A straw-style water filter for drinking straight from a stream or lake, or filtering into a bottle. 4-stage, 0.01 micron, about 2.8 oz (80 g), with an 8 in (20 cm) hose. It filters bacteria, protozoa and sediment, not viruses or chemicals. Free shipping.
A straw-style water filter for stream and lake water on the trail. Dip it straight into the source and drink, or run water through it into a bottle — no pumping, no waiting, no chemicals.
Built for the trail
- 4-stage filtration — medical-grade PP cotton, coconut-shell activated carbon, a hollow-fiber ultrafiltration membrane, then a second PP cotton stage.
- 0.01-micron filtering — rated by the manufacturer to remove 99.999% of bacteria and 99.9% of protozoa, plus sediment.
- 396-gallon rated capacity — enough for months of regular use before replacement.
- 550 ml (18.6 fl oz) per minute flow rate — fast enough that filtering doesn't feel like a chore.
- BPA-free food-grade ABS — safe materials, no aftertaste.
- Included 8 in (20 cm) hose — sip straight from a low water source or a kettle without kneeling in the mud.
When to reach for it

Filters bacteria, protozoa and sediment. Does not remove viruses, heavy metals or chemical contaminants — for those, use in combination with purification tablets or boiling.
Care
Backflush with clean water after each trip to clear the membrane. Let dry fully before storing. Don't let it freeze while wet — ice can crack the internal membrane.
Questions
Why is it hard to drink from? The first sips from a new or dry filter often take more effort while the membrane soaks through, so give it a few steady sips. If it gets harder over time, silt is building up in the membrane: backflush it with clean water as described under Care.
How do I keep it flowing? Fill from clear, moving water when you can. Let muddy water settle in a bottle first, or pour it through a clean cloth, and backflush after every trip.
Does it remove viruses? No. It filters bacteria, protozoa and sediment. Where viruses or chemicals are a concern, boil the water or use purification tablets as well.
How do I store it? Let it dry fully before you put it away, and do not let it freeze while wet. Ice can crack the membrane.
