A rechargeable headlamp for hikes that run past dusk: a wide COB light strip lights the trail in front of you, a small spot LED reaches further, and a motion sensor lets you switch it with a wave. USB-C charging, IPX4 rain resistant, $16.99 or $17.99. Free shipping.
A light, wide-beam headlamp for the hike that runs later than planned. A flexible COB light strip across the band spreads soft, even light over the trail in front of you, and a small spot LED reaches further when you need to read a sign or find the next blaze. It charges by USB-C, so there are no batteries to carry.
What it does
- Wide COB beam: a light strip along the front of the band lights a broad area, so you see the trail edges without turning your head.
- Spot beam: a separate small LED for a narrower, longer beam.
- Motion sensor: switch sensor mode on, then wave your hand in front of the lamp to turn the light on or off. Handy when your gloves are on or your hands are dirty.
- High and low brightness, plus a flashing mode for signalling.
- USB-C charging with a built-in 1200 mAh rechargeable battery (about 4.4 Wh). A charging cable (USB-A to USB-C) is included.
- Rated IPX4: it handles rain and splashes. Do not submerge it.
- Soft elastic headband with an adjustable buckle. Fits adults and older kids.
Choose your style
- Single COB Strip: one light strip along the band. Simple and light.
- Triple COB Strip: three light strips for a fuller, brighter flood of light.
Good to know
- Sold as one headlamp with one charging cable. Clip hooks are not included.
- Charge it fully before your trip and carry a spare light on longer hikes. Run time depends on the mode you use.
Questions
Is a wide beam good for hiking? A wide beam lights your footing and the edges of the trail without turning your head. Switch to the spot LED when you need to look further ahead or read a sign.
How does the motion sensor work? Turn sensor mode on, then wave your hand in front of the lamp to switch the light on or off. It helps when you are wearing gloves.
Is it waterproof? It is rated IPX4, so it handles rain and splashes. Do not submerge it.
How long does a charge last? It has a 1200 mAh built-in battery, and run time depends on the mode you use. Charge it fully before you go and carry a spare light on longer hikes.
Why does it run down faster in the cold? Cold slows every rechargeable battery, so a charge lasts less and the light can dim sooner. On cold hikes, start with a full charge, keep the headlamp in an inside pocket until you need it, and carry a spare light.
Single or Triple COB Strip? Single has one light strip and is the simpler, lighter choice. Triple has three strips for a fuller flood of light.
